YSL Paris: EDT vs EDP compared
Short version: the EDT is the brighter, greener reading of YSL's rose-and-violet classic and the better warm-weather choice; the EDP is rounder and warmer, sits closer to the original 1983 character, and holds on longer. The EDT is the cheaper of the two and stocked roughly twice as widely among the shops we track; the live cards below carry the current prices.
| Paris EDT | Paris EDP | |
|---|---|---|
| Character | Dewy rose, green violet, lighter musk | Fuller rose, warmer base, more powder |
| Wear time | Afternoon | Working day |
| Season | Spring, summer | Autumn, winter, evenings |
| Price and availability | Cheaper, widely stocked | Pricier, fewer shops |
The same name, two temperatures
Paris is one of the great rose perfumes, and both versions keep the signature: rose and violet, unapologetically romantic. The EDT cools it down with a greener, fresher opening that suits daytime and heat. The EDP turns the same material toward velvet: more warmth, more powder, more evening. Neither is a watered-down version of the other, which is the general rule with concentrations, as covered in EDT vs EDP.
Who should buy which
Buy the EDT if you want Paris as a daytime signature, if you live somewhere warm, or if heavy florals tire you. Buy the EDP if you loved the vintage character, want the scent to survive a full day, or wear it mostly from October onward. If you already own one and wonder about the other: they are close enough that owning both only makes sense for a true Paris devotee.

A price note
The EDT is not only cheaper per bottle but stocked far more widely, which keeps its price competitive. The EDP's thinner distribution means its price moves more; check the live cards above rather than assuming the gap is fixed.
